Already!? Yes, even though it was
launched only last week, I decided to re-design my portfolio because I knew I could do better. The main structure of the site is not changed but the look and feel just wasn't good enough. Perhaps the look was fine but there was no feeling to it. However, this time the site has a "theme" which I hope will provoke good feelings to its visitors. I will not spoil the surprise with a screenshot so

I like it. The one thing I'd change, just personally speaking, is taking out the palm tree island and birds. For me, the empty horizon and the sun alone convey quite a nice feeling. Other than that, looks great.
hey (me = bloggercamp), got your comment on mybloglog... ask and you shall receive!
I really like the fluidity of the layout and the colors are quite awesome. I like the non-conventional navigation and severely vertical page layout, but I feel that it being so vertical detracts from the emphasis of your site. Seperate pages are what many people are accustomed to and have come to expect which is what threw me off about your site in the first place.
Great colors, but paginate it and it'll work out for the best! I disagree with the last comment, those items give a nice feeling for the layout. Cheers!
I like the palm tree - they have such a great effect on blood pressure.
I was a little confused about which sites the captions were for.
I think it is pretty cool that it is already Friday where ever you are at and it is barely 4pm here.
That is totally neato!
Robert's more sensitive and maybe more astute than most of us. Without the palm tree and birds, I might feel momentarily disoriented. Ordinarily, it's better not to disorient viewers, but done well and subtley it could force a second glimpse. But I'm a writer, not a graphic designer.
Couldn't be better. Every thing fits. It's almost perfect. It's seem with you when it comes to graphics "every thing goes" or almost
overall, I like it... I think your a natural But...
for us woodland dwellers who's only access to the world is a dial up connection, your graphics are a bit large and takes considerable time to view...
don't forget the little guy's and you should get tons of business! I wish we had a budget for your service!
ouch ! even on my dimmest laptop screen, the sun feels like a real sun ! too bright i think.
but the island and palm tree is nice ^^
Much better Ilker. Much better. Positive, inspiring and optimistic: the best ingredients that make a good portfolio website.
If some of the users say that the images are too large (I had no problem with the loading time though) maybe you should consider creating a gallery bar and showcasing there smaller screenshots and create separate pages for each project? Eventually add there some description too? And more customer testimonials?

Looks good. Similarly to Robert the palm tree looks out of place. I would suggest moving it off of the horizon line and down in to the water more.
I like the look! I admit I am used to the sidebar being on the right. But,I like the left side positioning!

Good Design!? The entire scene concept looks good but...Yes for sure the palm tree is out of the place, because it's too sharp compared to the entire scene that looks foggy, proportions and details could help popup the tree. Another thing is the relation of the horizon line and the black menu bar position, size and layout...Where's the golden rule? Do you want me to redesign your top page? Just my comment...
concept is good... is this liquid? hmmmm.. enweiz, overall good job!
Thanks everyone! This is great feedback, much appreciated and I will certainly consider your points next time I review my portfolio design.
Ilker, as always you exhibit extraordinary crisp and catching color and imagery.
Suggestions: More portfolio stuff. Add highlights to the birds and the Island/Tree from the light side. If you go minimalist on your name - there needs to be some way to accentuate it above the other text elements as your brand is a larger issue than any one element.
Just a few thoughts - a great transition from light to depth transcending to your work. :)
Great stuff, from this freelancer who still hasn't got around to building his portfolio site ;-)
