Wanted: Guest Thinkers

People sometimes leave a comment like "What kind of thinking blog is this?" or like "I thought this was a thinking blog." Well, it is about the stuff that makes me think and topics that are worth pondering on. Hence, it would be no surprise that the posts here might be biased towards my opinion and are limited to my perspective. Not anymore! Here is a chance to show your side of the argument on how a thinking blog really SHOULD be.
OK. Actually, the truth is that at the moment I have to think about my final exams. Even though I have over 100 draft posts waiting to be published, I have no time left to ponder upon them from studying. I'm looking for guest bloggers who are interested in writing some "thinking" posts. I will try to publish a few of my draft posts if I can but for the coming days, it is all about your thoughts! [UPDATE: Exams are over but I will continue publishing quality posts written by you from time to time.]
This is a great opportunity to expose yourself to a whole new audience and also get some link love at the same time. Your article will include a sentence like "This is a guest post by [insert name linked to your site/blog here]" at the end of each post. You can link to anywhere relevant in the post, including your own blog, and include as many images or videos as you like. Couple of ground rules:
You can write about anything else and if you need some inspiration, take a look at the categories in this blog or click on the links below. If you would like to write a post but you are totally clueless on what to write, I can give you a topic or send you one of my draft posts for you to finish. Apart from that, the only restiriction for image/video sizes is the 650 pixel width. Also as per tradition, every post will include a thumbnail image (sized 125x86) at the top left that describes the topic or hints about its content.
Meanwhile, have a look at what you might have missed in this all-time round up, go for a random post if you are feeling lucky, or enjoy thinking posts of the past on one page by clicking these: December, January, February, March, April, May. I'm particularly interest on hearing your thoughts about my early days of blogging and how I grew up as awriter blogger.
Make sure you have the RSS feed or have the posts delivered to your email so you don't miss your daily dose of fuel to keep thinking!

Submissions: All you need to do is email me your entry with the subject "Guest Thinking - [insert appropriate catchy HEADLINE here]" and I will publish it. Don't forget to include your name and blog URL so I can give the appropriate credit with the post. If you wish to introduce what you write about on your blog, feel free to include a short descriptive sentence like "[NAME] writes many times a week about [TOPIC]." I hope there will be enough entries to cover my blog while I'm busy studying.

Hello, I would like to be a guest thinker in your blog. I will post it to you soon.
Thanks Thomas.. I'm looking forward to hear from you!
I would but I'm having trouble keeping my blog updated, with the last month of my final high school year at hand. Gotta enjoy it before University turns me into a machine :P
But if anything, I wanted to get this out to many people, and clearly posting it on my blog didn't do it. One of the most powerful, if not the most powerful of images I've ever seen.

I would love to be a guest thinker. What are your requirements? You can e-mail me them if you prefer: jennifer at ladylike4 dot com. Thanks for the open invite...
Very cool idea! Good luck on your exams!
ooooh! I want to be a guest thinker! Would you have a minute to chat with me about by email?
@2Perfect: Thanks! I forgot to mention that you can contribute to the "Pictures Worth A Thousand Words" series by emailing me a URL or attaching the image to it along with the credits of the photographer.
@Jennifer and Maryam: If you have any general questions please write it down as a comment here for other to read as well. If it is too specific/personal feel free to email me and I'll get back to you as soon as possible.
@Mommy's Getaway: Thank you!
Ilker,
I'm definitely in! I was actually thinking about starting (yet another!) new blog, and I realized that it would be a lot less time consuming to just help other bloggers by guest blogging in order to get some exposure back to my own sites.
I'll shoot you an email with some ideas.
p.s. - Stop reading! Don't you have studying to do??? ;)

The idea appears to be exciting but in my honest opinion the 2 rules, no politics and no religion, make me think that the "thinking blog" is just a bit light. Politics is the way goverments lie citizens. And Religion the way those citizens ask god what's going on. Society does not exist without Politics or without Religion. But blogs certainly can. I guess you dont want anything that can bring controversy. Perhaps is a good point of view.
@Jorge: You are right. Though these rules of "no religion/politics" are here not because they can create controversy but because I don't enjoy them. Besides, there are lots of blogs out there dealing with those topics.
However, just because I don't rant about my religious or political opinion does not make The Thinking Blog "a bit light" as you put it.
I prefer to write about things that interest me and some posts do bring quite a bit of controversy. As you can see from most commented posts, you will find that "Support Topless Women" is the most discussed post of all time.
Other opposing views have been expressed on the topics of global warming, internet pornography, and social unrest.
i would love to...
Just wondering: your blog is entirely in English. May the post be written in Brasilian portuguese or it has to be translated? I have developed a fantastic method to test eficacy of SEO maneuvres tha I will publish in portuguese in my blog in a few days and if it would be interesting, I could try to translate it to english.
@Rafeal: Thank you! That is really kind of you but unfortunately I can only publish English posts on this blog. It would be great to have you on board if you could translate it into English.
i would love to be the guest writer at thinking blog. But my post will be a bit towards technical side. Hope you will include it :D
ilker, I like the idea and will think on a good post for your site. I already find a natural connection between our blogs in my pursuit of http://www.thoughtsparks.net being a thinking blog.
If you get in a bind, I can actually write and think at the same time (but I have to use spell checker to because I can't really type and think at the same time).
Check out my blog via blogspot at criticalassumption.blogspot.com -- also, I'm really groovin' to the graphics in the critical thinking post - how much?
Hello Ilker, i wonder if you receive my email. Have a nice day.
@Arnie: Please contact me via email for design work.
@Thomas: Yes, I received your email along with all those who contributed a post. I would love to send an individual thank you note every time I receive one but instead I tried to save some time by thanking you all in this post. Though, I will respond each email (along with my thanks) once I publish your posts every other day.
ANNOUNCEMENT TO ALL GUEST BLOGGERS: You cannot publish the post that you submit on your own blog. If the entry you contribute is not unique to The Thinking Blog then it will not be published.
The idea is to have something new on this blog. Not reproduce something that is already on the net. I've always been careful about this in the past and guest posts are no different.
Noted. Thank you for letting me know. I remove my post now.
Best of luck on your exams ilker! I'm glad I'm done with mine hehee.
I'll try to write something as a guest thinker and send it to you.
ANNOUNCEMENT TO ALL GUEST BLOGGERS: I think that it might be useful to all the readers if you also include a short descriptive sentence that follows your name credit. Check out the latest guest post for example. So, what I'm looking for now is:
1. Guest post that is thought provoking and not published anywhere else on the net,
2. Small image that goes on the top left of the entry to describe what the post is going to be about,
3. Credit details including name, blog URL and a few words describing what your blog is about.
Optional: Lots of big images, hosted on Imageshack or a similar service, would be great to make a post more visually interesting if applicable.
Guest blogging...hmmmm?
But first, what's blogging? It was something I'd heard of just 5 or 6 days ago. Then hit Google, found blogspot, and wrote about a life-changing (non-political/religious topic).
I think too much. In fact, I can't sleep often because of it.
I love writing. So the chance to write something appeals.
So what would I write?
I "think" I could write about pretty much anything. In fact, give me a random topic, and I;ll give it a whirl.
Not entirely sure I can, but I;d love a challenge. Do you want humorous, well-researched, off-the-hip or something else?
Love making a fool of myself (did in business!), so think of one word and reply by email (please! not got the hang of this yet, and trust my inbox).
But sure I shouldn't give out email addresses I could get blasted by. So please try and decipher this if you want to take a chance:

Would you be interested in a thinking post about living in a van? Or stripping? :)
Hi Ilker,
I mailed you an essay about Edward de Bono and creative thinking yesterday. Have a look! (It was a PDF, so your spam filter might have killed it.)
Sono contenta per esser stata nominata da alcuni amici bloggers. Il mio blog ha il seguente indirizzo: www.storiadopostoria.blog.kataweb.it.
