Google, Where Are My Readers?
While I was checking my stats today, I noticed that something was wrong with my Feedburner count. It was halved in one day and I thought there is no way this could have really happened. Investigating it further, I found that all the subscribers via "Google Reader" suddenly gone missing! I'm not sure if this is something to do with Google or with Feedburner since I haven't been following the news. Anyone else in the same situation or can you explain what's going on?

I don't have nearly as many subscriptions, but I've noticed my count jump up and down as well. When I looked it up, google was to blame.
I look forward to seeing if any of your readers (or yourself) comes up with the reason for the teeter-totter.

Im right here! Still have you in my Google Reader... Don't know what's up with the count though.
Well Google did purchase Feedburner so maybe they are doing some upgrades...?
@Ms Foo: Thank you for the link. The post quotes a response from a Feedburner Forum thread as below:
"As for the Google Reader numbers disappearing; that's typically a temporary issue which finds Google not reporting the entirety of subscriber totals they've tallied on their end to us; as we have seen in other cases to date, this problem usually resolves itself within a day or two, and your totals return to their former levels. It is highly unlikely a mass unsubscription took place."

I don't think they're making any changes because of the purchase. And also this has been a problem even before that.
Well, at least this glitch doesn't affect people who use Google Reader to read my posts on RSS feed.

I use Google Reader, I am still here. I noticed my number dropped, that is probably why too...I went from 50 to 30. They are probably doing some internal changes now that they own them.
Feedburner just loooooves to play with bloggers nerves. I still remember when I logged in to check on my stats to see 0 on all my feeds. My heart stopped! but everything went back to normal again.
I get a nice preview delivered to my Google Reader. I hope you close in on the cause.

Google reader is acting weird today. Perhaps it's not sending the subscriber numbers to feedburner.
Mine took a temporary dip day before yesterday too. You'd think they'd get this solved since they're owned by Google now. I agree with the other commenter - the feed count has become my primary metric of "success" so I freak when that number takes a big dip
the weird thing was that it was random. for some blogs the numbers were correct and for others they were off by a huge amount. Hopefully the reporting will be more consistent in the future. Feedburner is still a good service though.
Im sure its noting to worry about. It will probably be sorted soon.
Noticed my subscribers dropped, but not its back to normal.
I saw my own sag in feed traffic between the 17th-19th of June, which saw Google Feedfetcher all but vanish during that period.
Strange. I thought it was just. Obviously not...
LOL! I live in Austria but I haven't seen a fucking signboard. will keep an eye of it.
