Men Doing Housework As Sports
And not just any sport - extreme sports! Women's role in contemporary society is an ongoing debate as more and more women take part in the workforce. After all, making a career for women is just as important as for men. At this point I stand on the Model B side of Talcott Parsons' views of gender roles, i.e. total disintegration of roles. All housework should be done by both parties in equal shares. For those women who argue that men don't do any housework..well, I just found some evidence that will prove you wrong!

You can find more images of guys doing some extreme ironing at the Extreme Ironing Bureau. The site describes this as "the latest danger sport that combines the thrills of an extreme outdoor activity with the satisfaction of a well pressed shirt."

well I must say, this is quite a dedicated bunch of houseworking men! Glad to see them getting out of the house now and again. Cabin fever can drive a person to do crazy things, like, say, ironing on top of 4 wheel drive vehicle going down a 45 degree angle! Yikes! :-)
This is so funny - looks like something my own husband might try if I ask him to iron anything!
I found my Digg and went there. NOw I must sleep.
I am very tired. Maybe back on Saturday.
Love ya!
Okay, I'm by no means this hardcore - ironing is just too darned frustrating for me.
But I'll admit that I do handle the vast majority of the laundry housekeeping at the 2Dolphins Resort & Spa. I like to think of myself as a domestic ninja - stealthily cleaning in elusive little bursts...
Conversely though, Dede handles almost all of the bill-paying and paperwork-wrangling. I may be a neat freak, but she's far more organized.
I like to refer to this as our "management vs. labor" division...
yikes.. are these people serious? lol
ok, the one that really got me was the ironing on the cow. Getting the wrinkles out and branding the cow at the same time, LOL
Good stuff. Next up, extreme knitting!
