Email Your Future Self
I've seen this before, and maybe some of you have seen this as well, but I'm sure most people haven't. Even so, its time to bury your own personal time capsule! Ever wonder where will you be one year from today? Preserve your thoughts, resolutions, and memories on Future Me, then specify the date in the future when you want them emailed back to you.The free service lets you to send an email to any address up to 30 years from now. It's a great way to check in on yourself a few years forward and see if you've achieved your goals or languished in procrastination. I know it can actually be difficult to write down one’s goal but it’s something you have to do if you wish to be accountable to yourself.
Here are some examples from the public letters if you need some inspiration.

This brings up a lot of intersting thoughts!
I've often thought the best way to back up data is to beam it into outers space. Since the universe is curved it will come back. there is plenty of time to develop the technology to receive what will admittedly be a weak signal.
I use a silly service called Care Cards. A friend of mine once sent me an electronic card from Care Card (birthday or something) and I of course sent one back. A year later care cards emailed me (I had checked some box) and reminded me to send her a card. Now I send a card either to myself or the object of interest (the friend or relative with the birthday, etc.) and check "remind me next year" ... if care cards goes out of business I am truly sunk...
I can't imagine having the same email address 30 years from now. ;)
Me too. I can't imagine having the same email address 30 years from now!! Really interesting post and blog!
If you are in need of a reminding service then its better to use Birthday Alarm for anniversaries or birthdays and Hassle Me for periodic reminders like in the post How To Read 50 Million Blogs.
Also, don't worry if you think that your email address will change in 30 years. Future Me creates an account for you so that you can log in and change the email address. But then that would be cheating because you will be tempted to read what you wrote.
I think the best is to send an email to yourself between 1 and 4 years. For example, I have set up different emails to be delivered in 1, 4, 10, 20, and 30 years in the future to see if I have accomplished my short term and long term goals! (I am hoping to stick with my gmail address for the next 30 years :)
Very interesting service.
My only concern is: what if the service itself doesn't last this long?
What's their business model anyway?
Very interesting! I should send to myself a birthday greeting for the next 30 years. Or do the same for others.
Unlike the other comments, I'll probably keep my Gmail account 'til I breath my last!
Nice intro, a great way to remind myself always.
i think i will stay wif my GMAIL thru thick n thin =) as long as Google and I still alive.
Thats a damn good service. I´ll use this a lot.
Wow that's so interesting!
Be safe...
Great find. I will definitely try it. It's funny when you come across something you're sure everyone's heard about and they haven't. Thanks for the tip.
Another interesting service: Remember the Milk reminds you your to-do list. You can receive reminders via email, SMS, and instant messenger.
What do you think? Post your thoughts..
